Why do many pet foods "look good" but pets don't want to eat them?

Do you feel the same way?

The ingredient list is impressive, and the nutrition content is high,

But your pet just sniffs it and walks away, or even if they reluctantly eat it, you don't see any difference.

The problem is often not "whether ingredients are added",

But rather —— whether these nutrients are truly preserved and properly ingested.

Does the unseen production process of pet food determine how well pets eat?

This is also the most important thing for us when designing pet food: technology

Nutrients must be "retained and accessible."

Pet parents might have noticed the ingredient list on pet food packaging, but overlooked a crucial point: nutrients can be destroyed by high temperatures or oxidation during the production process.

Pet parents often ask: "Why doesn't my pet eat food that claims to be highly nutritious? And why don't I see any difference after they eat it?" The answer lies in the process design for nutrient retention and palatability enhancement.

Today, let's take a deep dive into two key processes of ALINA pet food:

 ❶ Staged Nutrient Preservation

"It's not enough to just add it"

It's about making sure it stays. What most people don't know is that critical nutrients are very sensitive to high temperatures, oxidation, and prolonged processing. In typical processes, nutrients are often mixed with raw materials at the beginning, then subjected to high-temperature extrusion and drying. By the time the food is finished, a portion of the nutrients has already been lost.

Typical pet food practice: Nutrients added firstHigh-temperature processingReduced activity

ALINA's approach: Key nutrients added lastAvoids high temperaturesFull activity preserved

We choose to add fragile nutrients only in the final stages of the process to minimize heat damage and oxidation risks. Natural oil film sealing is the final layer of protection.

After adding nutrients, we then use a natural oil film* to seal them, forming a protective layer that resists oxidation, locks in nutrients and freshness, and delays flavor loss. This ensures that the nutrition is not just "up to standard," but genuinely has the opportunity to be absorbed and utilized by your pet.

📌 What matters isn't what's written on the ingredient list, but how much nutrition remains in each bite your pet eats. Every kibble is like a freshly prepared nutritious meal.

As we often say, every piece of kibble is like a freshly prepared meal, not something that starts deteriorating as soon as it's made. Each piece is like a freshly made nutritious meal, not losing its nutrients as soon as it leaves the factory.

 ❷ Three-Stage Palatability Enhancement Technology

"Not tricking them with fragrance, but making them truly love to eat"

Picky pets are rarely not hungry; more often, they find the food unpleasant, unnatural, or simply don't want a second bite.

Palatability has never just been about "smelling good," but about the entire eating experience.

Therefore, we break down "delicious" into three aspects.

  • First StageIngredient Flavor Penetration

The aroma isn't just on the surface; it penetrates deep inside through vacuum coating technology. In a low-temperature, low-oxygen environment, the natural flavors of the ingredients are infused into the inner layer of the kibble.

The benefit of this is: the aroma isn't just on the outside; every bite has flavor, while also preserving heat-sensitive nutrients.

👉 Not just fragrant at the first bite, but delicious from start to finish.

  • Second StageNatural Surface Scenting

The aroma isn't just on the surface; it penetrates deep inside through vacuum coating technology. In a low-temperature, low-oxygen environment, the natural flavors of the ingredients are infused into the inner layer of the kibble.

👉 Eat with peace of mind, and won't get tired of it easily.

  • Third StageChewing Texture Optimization

The mouth knows best whether something tastes good. The final stage is "how it feels to chew."

We precisely adjust the kibble's hardness and puff structure to maintain a satisfying crunch without being tough to chew.

Not too hard, reducing chewing effort; not too loose, maintaining satisfaction while eating.

👉 Even picky pets will willingly finish their meal slowly.

Three stages, not for complexity, but because each layer solves a problem.

Aroma doesn't penetrate?  ⇢ Flavor penetration

Uncomfortable to chew ?Texture optimization

📌 Not a single technique, but three layers of deliciousness.

The value of technology ultimately comes down to one thing:

We do all this not to make our process seem impressive, but to ensure that every meal can be like this:

Pets are willing to come closer, willing to finish their food, and truly get the nutrition they need.

It's not about adding more nutrients, but about retaining them and making them accessible.
